This new technology allows builders and home owners to utilise traditional building materials in bushfire zones, simplifying construction and reducing costs.

F1E meets the requirements for bushfire-resisting timber specified in AS3959:2009 Construction of Buildings in bushfire-prone area Appendix F. Bushfire-resisting timber is timber that is deemed to be acceptable to withstand exposure up to a BAL—29 condition. And where exterior fire resistant paint applications and bush fire resistant timber are required.

FIRESHELL F1E’s versatility and exterior capabilities have already seen it used to achieve compliance on a variety of projects across Australia. In addition to the AS3959-compliant applications to weatherboards, decking substructures, fences and other exposed timbers, FIRESHELL F1E has been used on a number of government projects including the Sydney Harbour Bridge, motorway developments, NSW light rail projects, and Department of Housing asset protection. It has also been used in utility pole applications to reduce risk of ignition and prevent flame spread on external combustible surfaces.
